Following appearances in bits in several Irish and British television shows since 2009 Bea started her stand-up comic in the year 2011. As early as 2012 Bea began appearing on sitcoms or sketch comedy. After she won an award at Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA), she started to appear often in various panel programs. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats as well as a frequent participant for the spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the child of Brian O'Sullivan as well as Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is the younger of her siblings. She is only the second ever female winner of So You Think You're Funny. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses who committed suicide at three-years-old. She didn't discover the reason of death until 13 years later. The stage name she chose was Bea to pay tribute to her father. She wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea was fostered by her older sister Sinead and her mother Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, and former professional racer. They were obsessed with racing and horses. As a young girl, Bea worked as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young age that she was not attracted to the race industry as a career and instead enjoyed performing.
